Muggeridge wins IDM Championship
Riding a Honda for the Holzhauer Racing Promotion team ('photo courtesy of Toni Boerner) he won five races, took eight podiums in total, plus two poles positions and two fastest laps. The Aussie rider, now 36-years-old, eventually beat a former WSS rival Werner Daemen (BMW) to the crown, but the Manufacturers' Championship was won by KTM with its RC8R vee-twin.
Said Muggeridge of his championship win, "I'm glad it's over and that we got the job done. The season is only six months long, with eight races but we had 12 tests before and during the season, so I have never been so busy. We had a pretty good season but after I had a big crash, when I was taken out at the Sachsenring, I have been suffering with pain from a neck injury. In the final round the other guys had to make up 31 points, and I just had to not do anything silly. I stayed out of trouble and we took the championship."
